I’m going to be honest (as if I could be anything else though technically I could be something else but I don’t want to be). The last week and a half has been pleasing in the scope of everything that’s tied to my writing. I have discovered some things that have given me a jolt in terms of my writing endeavors.
I officially have more than 3 1/2 fans and that has been steadily growing. That’s always heartening even when you don’t have an actual novel published which is what I’ve been behind the scenes working at: getting this first novel completed. Officially, since I’m a part of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month for those of you that don’t know) I’ve already written a novel. The goal for NaNoWriMo is to write at least 50000 words in a month, the minimum for a novel. I just did that and the month is not over. My plan is to finish the novel some time this week, God willing.
Let me tell you the plans I have coming up so you know what to lookout for from RIU HQ.
In the next couple weeks, there are going to be two new releases. These releases will complete The Dark Corner miniseries. They are The Basement and The Confrontation. The finale stories are longer than any of the preceding stories. The whole point of me breaking it up into five parts was that so people could have a serial novel because when it’s all said and done, it will be one completed novel, albeit a short one. There’s going to be a surprise released in December and January is the month that slated for the release of my first novel Blackson’s Revenge: The Poltergeist Files – Book I. In short, I’m going be working like gangbusters and I’m happy that I’m going to be doing that. I’m having fun here.
There are some other things that I have planned but those are only pertinent to my RIU Citizens. Now if you haven’t signed up then I’m going to encourage you to do that right now:
Join the RIU Citizenship
I want to repeat that there is no way to get the whole series in its entirety unless you are part of the RIU Citizenship. RIU Citizens get the whole series as well as get it for free. You can get the majority of the series if you enjoy it without being a part of the RIU but you’ll have to pay for the last two books in the series. Why anyone would do that when they could get it for free is beyond me but I’ve seen it happen. Just put your name in the pop up box or fill at the form at the bottom of this post.
Another thing has transpired that I was afraid was going to happen. The recurring characters in The Dark Corner miniseries were originally supposed to be in The Dark Corner exclusively. I had no plans for them beyond the series. It was simply supposed to be an introduction to my writing and my universe. However, they seem to have taken on a life of their own and now it appears that if there may be another novel on the horizon with those characters at the forefront. I can’t get them out of my head now. They have grown and attached themselves to me in a way that I was earnestly trying to avoid but failed. This is the bane of being a storyteller.
If you don’t know which characters I’m talking about, you need to download The Dark Corner miniseries. For those of you who are wondering which characters I’m talking about, I’m specifically speaking of Sebastian, Amanda, and Tyler. They do have a name and a background though I haven’t fleshed that out in its entirety. I’m working on that as I’m working on everything else because if I don’t get this out of my head then is not going to be healthy for me. I mentioned before that it is imperative for writers to write because they need to get the ideas out of their head for their own sanity. I was serious as a heart attack when I said that. All these ideas, stories, and characters flying around in my head have to be released. Writer’s write for the sake of sanity in an insane vocation.
There you have it. You guys have to keep me honest. Leave a comment with questions either about what I have written or what is going to be released. Would love to hear from you.
Until next time, see you in the Tapestry!
