Wow. January is starting off with a bang. For me at least. We’re five days into the month and as promised, the release of the fourth book in The Dark Corner miniseries is here…at least for R.I.U. Citizens. Others will have to wait until next week but you can at least get a brief look at what this latest installment is about.
It’s day one of National Novel Writing Month and there are many authors around the world gearing up for writing their first novel or writing their 10th novel. Is always a fun time it’s a great time of encouragement. To kick off my first month of ever being in this event, I have released the exclusive RIU Citizen story in The Dark Corner series titled The Gift.
The goal to be more productive is something that most people in business desire—or what most people that do what they love to do desire. It’s even more so for writers I think because our profession is only taken seriously when we’ve actually finished something. There is already the stigma that what were doing is not really work (which I can vehemently disagree with in one whole post alone). Add to that the fact that we are arduously committing effort and time to something where the reward is on the far back end if the reward ever comes at all. That reward is not really getting paid though that can be a part of it. No, the reward is actually finishing whatever it is that we’ve written and getting the thing published. The only way that that is going to happen is if you are cranking out the requisite amount of words to get to the end. That is why it’s so important to set goals in terms of word count. That is why mine has just increased.
I have been diligently working to get the ball rolling on The Dark Corner Archives and the first updated and revised story is up and running. Because I did some many things differently and the tools have changed drastically for indie publishers, I spent more time getting acclimated to my new tools than I did revising the story.
The first book in the series, The Visitor, launched today. It has a new cover and new content. It is the shortest out of all the stories in the series but it gets the ball rolling. It is the story that brings up a lot of unanswered questions whose solution you can only find in the books that follow it. It’s free and will forever remain that way. I make it easy for you to grab a copy so click on the link and read this post now.
As we reach the midway point of 2017, I have been busy behind the scenes getting ready for two release coming up in the next six to eight weeks. It has been quite some time since my last release but these next six months will see a definite uptick in releases in the RIU universe. Take a quick peek at what we have going on.
