It’s November 1st and there are a lot of exciting things happening here at RIU HQ.
The first thing is that it is the first day of National Novel Writing Month. Writers all over the globe are participating in this event as they endeavor to write at least a 50,000 word novel in the next 30 days. For some, it’s their first novel and for others it may be their fifth novel. The good thing about this is that it motivates people to get to the business of writing if that is something that they have been called to do.
I made mention that I was going to be participating in this last month when The Forest was released. I have done all of the pre-work that needs to be done (outlining) and I’m ready to begin the journey in writing the first book in my sci-fi/action series Blackson’s Revenge, the first book in my Poltergeist Files series. As you can imagine, I’m excited about this. But that’s not the only thing.
Today is the official release of the third story in The Dark Corner series titled The Gift. I told you it was coming and it has arrived. Now, this release is special because it is exclusive to RIU Citizens. What does that mean? It means that only those who are part of the RIU Citizenship will get the book. It will not be available for download at any of the online retailers. It is my exclusive gift and thank you to those who are supporting me and continuing this journey with me.
Below is a description of the story:
Ten-year old Jason Meechum is a quiet, young boy who hides himself in fantasy and science fiction books. Other kids pick and make fun of him but he suffers throough it. That’s because Jason has a secret. A secret of pain, fear, and hopelessness. A secret he wants to tell but can’t.
All of that is about to change because Jason will be the recipient of something special. Something beautiful and a mystery. Something wondrous and odd.
Tonight, Jason Meechum will have two secrets. One will survive. The winner will determine if tonight is Jason’s last night…ever.
I need to warn you, this deals with some uncomfortable subject matter. No, it’s not getting all graphic and detailed. No, it’s not about pedophilia. However, though the story has a ten-year old as the main character, it’s not a story for ten-year olds. Consider this my self-imposed novel rating.
You may have been sitting back waiting to see if I was actually going to continue to release these stories. I think many times, people are reticent to try new authors because they don’t know if they are going to be consistent. Plus the fact that there is always a fear factor involved which is the reason why this whole series is for free. If you like it, great. If you don’t like it, then you haven’t lost anything and you can just move on to something else.
Today, I’m going to make it easy for you. You’re probably looking at this at my website and you’ve probably gotten to the point where my pop-up box has appeared in the bottom right corner. If you want to get this series in its entirety, then go ahead and put your email in there and I will make sure that you will get all three of the books in the series. If that box hasn’t popped up (silly technology) then you can always go ahead in click this link:

Again, there is no other way you can get the whole series and that will be something that I won’t change. So join the RIU today and make sure you don’t miss out.
I’ll also be working on the edits for the next story in the series called The Basement. Quite a while ago, I said I was working on this and it is finally finished. Much has been added and there’s still a round of edits to go through. This will be the longest story when it releases. There are a lot of pivotal things that happen in this particular part of the series so it’s one that you do not want to miss. That story will be coming out this month as well.
