It’s 2018. Can you believe it? A new year and that means new opportunities.
It’s day one of National Novel Writing Month and there are many authors around the world gearing up for writing their first novel or writing their 10th novel. Is always a fun time it’s a great time of encouragement. To kick off my first month of ever being in this event, I have released the exclusive RIU Citizen story in The Dark Corner series titled The Gift.
Wow. Time really does fly.
It’s been two weeks since my last post. Doesn’t mean I wanted to neglect you guys. I have been busy. This post pretty much proves that as today is the day for the re-release of the second book in The Dark Corner series, The Forest. In this post, I give you a glimpse on what’s been going on behind the scenes at RIU central and what you can expect to see in the coming months. So come on in.
There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes here at R.I.U. Central. Some things are big, some small, but they are all leading to something that I’m confident will build a better experience for my 3 1/2 readers (one day, I’ll have four. I just know I will). Changes means a lot of moving around and implementing which takes time. Slowly but surely, it’s coming together and this time I’m want you to come along with me. It’s not because I believe I’m not interesting. More so it’s because I want to be honest to those who have hung in there with me all of this time. I appreciate it. Now, you’re stuck with me for good and I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing but if you like to read the stories I write, then I suppose it’s a good thing.
I’m making changes all over the place, not just here at my website. In all things that are connected to my website as well. There are all of these small things that when you are first starting out, you may not spend as much time as you need to spend on because you’re anxious to get something out to the world. This go around, everything will get its proper attention. In order to do that, we have to pull back everything into the warehouse, re-inventory and reorganize as we formulate a new plan.
There’s a saying that “Man plans but God laughs.” That’s not true always though it is some times. Sometimes, it’s along the lines of “Man plans, God directs.” That’s why it’s a good idea to lay out everything before Him from the beginning. We may save ourselves some headache.
Case in point: I have been laying my plans before Him in my calling as a writer and He has directed—in no uncertain terms—me to the place where I am now. I thought that I was going in one direction and I’m still going in that direction. That part hasn’t changed. However, the dynamics in the journey has changed. The paths that I am taking to get to that destination has been guided by Him and I’m happy for it.
So what exactly does this has to do with the price of rice in China? Well, it means that things are a changing so I can ride along on this path a little more smoothly. I want to make sure your ride with me (if you dare to go there) will be enjoyable and that you’re not taken by surprise. Just a little something to keep you updated.
