For those of you that have been following me on my new path, you know that I have been speaking about my new direction in terms of my writing. I wanted to give you an update on that currently and give you an idea on what to expect moving further into this.
Officially, I’ve gone dark with all of my books. None of them are available online anywhere at the moment. Not even here at my website. As I mentioned before in a previous post, they are getting an overhaul not only in content but in look as well. The first covers are in (can’t wait to you to see them) and you will be able to see them very soon as we put together a release schedule for them. Believe me, we are coming up on that rather soon since the first three books are already completed with the fourth right around the corner. I’m already working on the outline for the fifth in the series called The Confrontation.
For those of you that may have forgotten, there are five books to this series. Some are short, like The Visitor. Some are longer like The Basement and The Confrontation. Once the whole series is done, I will be offering all of them as one single book which will include an extra story that will not be released except in that collection.
One of the major changes in this new and exciting direction that I’m taking is that I have signed on with a partner in this endeavor who has been with me for over 20 years. That’s my wife. She is now officially active and involved in my writing endeavors. That has really galvanized me and given that added impetus to press on in this and reach my goals in what I want to accomplish. So, thank you sweetheart.
This is a reinventing of my brand more than anything. I have learned much from listening to a ton of podcasts on the indie publishing business (that you very much Self-Publishing Formula. You guys are great) and I’m continuing to learn more as I push forward in this. I also learned much in my first foray. One of the things that I learned is that I like to do in the inside formatting of my Kindle books. I get a kick out of that. I don’t use a program for that but I have put together a CSS stylesheet and test out all of my books on the two Kindles I own. I will continue to do that. I genuinely like doing that and until it gets too cumbersome to do, I’ll continue to do it.
Another thing that you may have noticed on the website is that The Dark Corner section no longer has links to those offerings. All of those posts will be updated as we release the new and updated versions of the books. In addition, you may have even noticed a new cover for the first three books in the Dark Corner Archives called The Inception Trilogy. Things are-a changin.
Other small things here and there are adding a new author app on my Facebook page as well as some small edits on my Goodreads Author page. Across the board, you will begin to see more changes here and there and I want you to be there every step of the way. My commitment to write more is legitimate and my reason for the website has not changed though I probably won’t have as much industry material as I once did. It’ll still be there but I really want a connection with those who like my work. So, I’m keeping my once a week post minimum primarily to keep me honest and stay connected with you. So if there’s anything that you’d like to see, let me know in the comments below.
