To say that I’ve been busy would be an understatement, hence the lack of content here at RIU HQ. However, by necessity, all that is about to change. But before I get into that, let me give you a recap of what has been happening in the last few months of my hiatus.
The Poltergeist Files: Book 1 – Blackson’s Revenge Release
It’s been a little over a month now since the release of my latest novel, The Poltergeist Files – Book 1: Blackson’s Revenge. This is the first in a trilogy and I’m excited that the book is finally out and I can begin to work on the next one in the series. With each release, you learn a little something more and with this release, I learned a few new things. The next release should go easier (God willing *praying hands*). This is also available in paperback for those who are looking for the smell of pulp in their hands. You can go grab a copy over at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
The Dark Corner Novel Re-Release
I released The Dark Corner – Featuring the Makarios Cadre as a full novel as an ebook and in paperback. The audiobook will be forthcoming, God willing. It will come as the individual stories at first and like the book, those stories will be combined into one long audiobook with the hidden story that is only available in the novel. Now some of you may have received the book a while back. However, not only did I add a story at the end, I have a new cover. The first cover was entirely too plain looking. I’ve learned not to meddle and let my cover designers just do what they do and I’ve only had to interject with small corrections after the fact. I have two designers that are fantastic and that has been a tremendous blessing. We live and learn (we hope because that’s not always an automatic thing sadly).
That brings me to…
The Forest Audiobook
Production of the audiobook for The Forest is underway. For those of you not familiar, that is the second story in The Dark Corner miniseries. The first story, The Visitor, was released earlier this year in March. The end of the year will see more audio versions of my book released on Audible and other online audiobook outlets.
RIU Elite Group
Within the last month or so, I’ve formed a Facebook Group exclusively for RIU Elites. This is so other Elites can meet one another and I can have more of an instant connection with them. I can talk about things to them on the fly which is a lot more convenient than having to put an email together every time I want to say a little something.

RIU Storefront – LIVE (No. Really.)
The RIU Storefront has been a part of the website for some time but it was in demo mode for some months. Well, the kinks have been worked out and the store is officially live now. You can get direct links to my work as well as buy it straight from the website here. In the future, the plan is to have exclusive content that you can only obtain here at RIU HQ. So take a look at the storefront and let me know what you think.
The Veiled Athenaeum
Last on the list is the Veiled Athenaeum. If you are not a regular at the site (who would be at this point), the Veiled Athenaeum is the place where detailed background information on the RIU is accessed. Things like detailed characters profiles, hidden stories, background on locales, and object history that show up in the RIU. This one is still in the making because I’ve decided to change some things in reference to it.
The first thing I’ve decided is that it will be here at RIU HQ. This makes it easier to have everything in a centralized location. It also gives me an excuse to make more use of the website which I’ve been wanting to do for a while. So yeah. It’s about to to get jiggy in here.
The second thing is that it will be by membership only (this is still under construction). In other words, it will be restricted content that you can’t get access to unless you have the proper credentials. What are the proper credentials? Partial access to TVA will be available to RIU Citizens. Full access to TVA will only be available to RIU Elites. Those are people who are a part of my advance reader team. The only way to be a part of my ART is if you’re invited.
Why am I doing that? Well, that actually was the plan from the beginning when I started writing. My goal is to build a community and little by little have that community expand and become an immersive experience for RIU Citizens. Some citizens will be more invested than others which is understandable. Those citizens will want to be more involved in the universe. So, I’d like to have something for them, as a result, to let them know that I appreciate their support.
So yeah. I haven’t been sittin on my laurels back here.
Things will pick up. This I promise. There’s a lot to do and I’m having a ball learning how to do it. Truly.
