Today I wanted to update you on my latest project which is the fourth story in The Dark Corner short story series titled The Basement. Now if you haven’t downloaded the other stories, you can go ahead and download them at each of their respective pages here or you can go to Smashwords.com and download each individually. The order which they should be read is: The Visitor, The Forest, and The Gift.
Now if you’re paying attention, you’ll see that there’s a sign up box on the right hand side that allows you to sign up for a copy of The Basement by becoming a citizen of RIU (Reality Imagination Universe FYI). This is the only way that you will be able to get the full version of the book. I will be putting a sample up at Smashwords, Kobo, and a few others but the full story will only be available to citizens of RIU.
Why would I do a thing like that? Because I want people to be more than just readers. I want to be able to connect with those people on a one-on-one basis and get feedback as well as involve them in the RIU (more on this later).
I’m particularly excited about this story in The Dark Corner saga because it is a major link in bringing all of the stories together. Much will be explained that was left dangling in the other three stories. In addition, this is the longest of the stories, coming in at about 12,000 words or so, making it a novelette. Originally, as I explained before, each of these stories were standalone. What’s been tricky is tying all of these stories together in a series that makes sense.
Some of you have been waiting for this for quite some time. I thank you for your patience. Like I said, it’s been a little tricky tying all of these together. But I’m just about finished and I like where it’s ended up and I hope you do too. Just hang in there a little bit longer and it’ll be finished soon. How long? Soon. Real soon.
