ook Well, you know . . . things are a changin all the time. There is a shake-up in the RIU. Let me give you the run down.

The Dark Corner miniseries is about to be wrapped up. One of the things that I had decided to do in the release of each story was to have one of them that was exclusively for RIU Citizens. That worked out well . . . until I made a boo-boo.

When I released The Basement, I enrolled it in Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program which is under their KDP Select program. The stipulation of that program is that must have your book on Amazon exclusively for 90 days. It can’t be listed anywhere else as far as online retailers. No problem. However, not thinking about the ramifications of what that meant for my other titles, I enrolled The Visitor and The Forest.

Bad baby, bad baby!

By doing that, the first two books in the series that I wanted to have listed for free instantly became .99 cents.

Bah!

The Veiled Athenaeum

Now, I was in a quandary. I still wanted exclusive content and perks for RIU Citizens. However, I was forced to release the third book, The Gift, that was formerly my exclusive giveaway because of my lapse in judgment. Something needed to replace it. I had a couple of ideas but the one that prevailed was the something that I could keep going through all of my series. It’s what I call the Veiled Athenaeum.

This is the place that RIU Citizens will find out the story behind the story. They answer questions such as:

  • What was behind the forest incident? Why did it happen?
  • Who is a part the Pennsylvania chapter mentioned in The Gift who first appeared in The Forest?
  • Where did the E-Stone come from?
  • What happened in the house before the Vales made it their home in The Basement?

Some of these things I simply hint at in the other stories while some I never mention. Until now.

What that means for my RIU Citizens is that you still get exclusive content and other perks. What that means for me is more work. I don’t mind. Keeps me on my toes. What that means for non-citizens is nothing. Everything stays the same unless you’re in the Kindle Unlimited Program. Then you’ll be able to read the whole series for free. You just won’t have access to the Veiled Athenaeum (I just love that name).

I’m still in the process of fixing my faux pas so if you join the RIU and get my email giving you a link to the books and they cost, shoot me an email and I will get you a link where you can download them for free. I will honor those until I change the emails.

All that being said, The Gift is now available on Amazon and will be available at other online retail outlets soon. You can buy it for .99 cents or wait for it to go free which should be in about a week or so. However, if you an RIU Citizen, it will still be free no matter what.

As far as when the Veiled Athenaeum will be available, please be patient as I work out the logistics. I’ll keep you updated on the details as they become available.

As always, until next time, I’ll be busy in the Tapestry.
