Avengers: Age of Ultron and Writing – Prelude

Well, you knew it was coming, didn’t you? With all of the posts that I’ve done with this kind of theme (remember Captain America – Winter Soldier and the X-Men – Days of Future Past?), it was inevitable. However, this is the first time that I’ve ever done a prelude to a movie-and-writing post without having seen the movie first. There’s a reason for it and I know you’re just chomping at the bit to know why (I can dream, can’t I?).

There are a lot of movies that will be coming out with a superhero theme to them. I mean a lot. Marvel has nine coming out all the way up to 2019 and DC has a whole slew of movies as well, let alone Fox. It will be a veritable smorgasbord of superhero love for the next five years at least so, God willing, if I’m still around, there will be a whole lot of these kinds of posts here on this website.

I never thought that I was going to have enough to write about but apparently, I seem to be given one idea after another and I’m happy about that.

Now, why would a novelist put this stuff on his website? What does that have to do with his novels? Glad yAvengers-Green-Teeou asked.

This is the genre of books that I write. It’s science fiction in the stores but, in a nutshell, they are about superheroes. Just just people with powers but people with powers who decide to do something good with them even though they may not always start off that way.

What makes Avengers: Age of Ultron  (click the link for a video preview) so so special is that it is the return of one of the best movies of the last five years. It has grossed over a billion dollars worldwide and has been instrumental in catapulting my favorite superhero team into the spotlight on the silver screen. I have already bought a new Avengers T-Shirt that will debut when I go see the movie this weekend (pressed and ironed of course). I have been waiting for this movie for three years as well as many other people so my nerdiness will be in full effect all week.

In just in case you think I’m being lax, I’m also going to write a post on the new Daredevil series that came out on Netflix (yep, already seent it on the first day it came out). Of course, on top of all of that, I’m working on the novelette, The Basement which I mentioned last week. It’s going to busy and exciting around here. Hope you guys join me for this.

Oh, and let me know in the comments below if you’re going to see the movie and who is your favorite Avenger?
